Audio exports out of my synch

PostTue May 23, 2017 12:43 pm

Hi there....I've purposely hand-synched audio by slipping it on my time line and the red + and - times appear (see attached image) on both the video and audio parts.....fine....BUT when I go to export the final file to create the final movie DaVinci ignores what I have done (see image without the -00:06 for example) and thus makes it all out of sync.....why is this???? this is on DaVinci resolve 14 by the way...free version...the question is why does DaVinci FORCE what it thinks is a correct synch?

the -0.6 come up because you have moved the audio in relation to the video by that amount.
Are you monitoring via an purpose output card like a Decklink mini monitor?
That's the only way to monitor true audio sync. If you are using just the GUI viewer and system audio then when you play you most likely wont get a true representation of audio/video sync.

You can adjust the amount of video delay in preferences to help account for system induced delays.

Ten cents says it's the compressed Gopro format. Have you tried the same procedure, but with .wav files?

Whatever changes were made to h.264 decoding in 14, oddities remain, transcode and/or OM are still best practices.

EDIT: no such delivery error with slipped sync in prores source/dnxhd output.
