Drop/Non-Drop Fame Behaviour bug

PostWed May 24, 2017 9:32 am

I'll send this direct to BMD but wanted to post here for the reference of other too.

We are using 12.5.5 (also tested in 12.5.4) and everything for our project is setup in 29.97 Drop Frame. Everything shows up as 29.97DF including the timeline but the timecode of the timeline shows in the media pool as 10:00:00:00. In the edit page it shows properly as 10:00:00;00. The other thing is audio showing with 10:00:00:00 when it's displaying properly as 29.97DF and the Rushes are all showing correctly as 10:00:00;00 and 29.97DF. So in terms of audio, this concerns me for timecode syncing but does seem to work correctly so likley not a problem. Something that is a problem however is that when you output an ALE from the timeline everything comes out with 10:00:00:00 which then causes conflict with the media when trying to merge metadata in Avid.

I hope that all makes sense but hit me up if you have any ideas on a fix.
