Possible to Launch Studio as "Lite"?

PostMon May 29, 2017 12:40 am

I have Resolve Studio, but am wondering if I don't have my dongle if I can launch Studio as the free version of Resolve?

I ask because I'm considering upgrading my laptop to Studio. But there is a decent chance that one of these days I will forget to bring the dongle with me. It would be nice to be able to still launch Resolve, albeit with the limitations that come with the free version.

The two versions of software are different so there is no fall back to "Lite"

I imagine it's not recommended to try to install both versions on the same computer (dual boot being the exception).

Correct. Install only one at a time.

What I have done successfully is uninstall studio and install lite when I don't have the dongle. All that happens is that the Studio features are watermarked. When I install Studio again the watermark goes.
