Low GPU usage and poor playback (beta 14.0.0b.029)

Custom build: i7 2600k, P67 platform, Sapphire Radeon R9 Fury
Boot drive: M4-CT128M4SSD2
Install/footage drive: WD10EZEX-60ZF5A0 (boot drive doesn't have enough space to accommodate everything)


When playing back any footage under version 14.0.0b.029, the preview area stutters and lags significantly regardless all settings. Even at quarter size preview for 1080p/29.97FPS footage with optimized media, performance mode, and smart render cache, a project with a singular DNxHD 1080p 444, H.264, or MPEG4 cannot consistently maintain 29.97FPS. During this time, GPU usage generally remains below 5%. The timeline also is fairly laggy.

By contrast, under 12.5.5.026, I can play and scrub motion tracked DNxHD 1080p 444 at half res with no caching without issues.

The plot thickens. Under Version 14, the video export runs at upwards of 50FPS...

Another development: Resolve crashed and now stops responding while on the initial loading screen. This persists across reinstalls as well.

Letting my computer just sit there doing nothing seems to have cured the no launching issue. No idea what was up with that.

Looks like I lied: it launched, but upon trying to open a project, promptly crashed and again refuses to start.

Reinstalling to the C: drive instead of the D: drive worked.
