DaVinciResolve 14.0b3 Crashes when switching to media

PostTue Jun 13, 2017 10:54 pm

Exact version is 14.0.0b.029. On Latest version of windows 10.
SPECS:
CPU: Ryzen 7 1700
GPU: EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX 980SC
RAM: 16GB 2x8GB Corsair Dominator Platinum
Main Drive: Samsung 850 EVO 120GB SSD
Second Drive: WD Blue 1TB SSD

LOGS: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-5Kg ... EtORFpSVnM

After launching the app I try to click "media" to add videos and it immediately hangs then windows shows up saying "DavinciResolve has stopped working..."

Also, this all started when I tried to add an AMD GPU to my setup just to hopefully get faster render times. The program never launched with both GPUs in my system. So i removed it and Resolve has never been the same :x But i have removed everything having to do with the gpu reinstalled resolve 14 and 12.5 MULTIPLE times deleting any files associated and have gotten no where.

EDIT: Turns out the issue was having shadowplay enabled -_-*

Upon reading through my logs and trying to make of them what I could, it seemed that the drivers for my GPU were somehow corrupted. After using Display Driver Uninstaller to completely remove the drivers and Geforce drivers then using a iObit Uninstaller (I guess use whatever program you feel comfortable with) to remove any resemblance of Davinci Resolve I then reinstalled my drivers and then reinstalled resolve and all seems well right now.

Resolve is unable to initialize your 980 card.

What is the NVIDIA driver version you have installed?

Also, for future reference, Resolve does not support mixed GPU types. So using an AMD and an NVIDIA GPU will not work.

So Resolve 14.0b3 works without crashes on Ryzen?

Good to know that.
Is there any way to tell Resolve to recognize and use only certain GPUs? Probably via some config files. So it would allow to have mixed AMD/Nvidia cards for other applications.

You can configure GPU type and usage in Resolve Preferences - Video I/O and GPU.

Should I do the following?
- set processing mode to CUDA, selection mode to Manual and disable let's say additional AMD card?
- then go and set processing mode to OpenCL, selection mode to Manual, disable main Nvidia card and enable additional AMD card?
So each GPU will be treated right?

Or does it work in one of the CUDA/OpenCL modes and I will have to decide which card to use?

You need to have just install one brand of card and ideally a consistat model card if you have more than one, and have one processing mode selected for it.
