windoze install, LUT directories(s) ?

PostSat Jun 17, 2017 9:17 pm

Hello everyone,

Am I supposssed to have two LUT directories on a windows install of Studio 12.5.6 ?

I somehow have:
C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\.LUT
AND
C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\LUT

Am I suppossed to have the .LUT directory?
Are they suppossed to have the same subdirectories and files in each of these LUT directories?

It appears that for every LUT file (.cube) you place in the "LUT" folder, Resolve creates a matching "shaperlut" file in the ".LUT" folder. Whether it's an internal LUT format native to Resolve, some kind of metadata, or something else, I don't know.

Note that on UNIX systems any folder preceded by a full stop like that becomes a hidden folder. So I'd say it's something internal to how Resolve works that you're not supposed to see.
