Video transitions affecting all tracks, not only one

PostSun Jun 18, 2017 10:28 am

I have a normal video track and a separate (overlapping) text track. Now I wanted to transition the text out of the screen (push, swipe, i tried a lot), but for some reason this not only affected the text layer, but also the normal video layer below it and resulting in the video getting pushed/ swiped and revealing itself again below the transition effect. Not what I wanted, obviously... I just wanted the text layer to be affected. :)Any idea what am i doing wrong?

Hi,
Try to apply keyframe "position" on the text via the inpector.

This behavior has me puzzled too. Any effect applied to a text track will also cause the underlying video to be changed. A simple move can be done in Inspector but what about a wipe or other optical effect that is only required for the text.

Finally i did this, but is there an overall solution for the basic problem? With this way i can make only basic motions for the title track

I was bit by this one too. I thought I'd be clever and create a compound clip, which actually did work, but then I got bit by viewtopic.php?f=21&t=60122

Sigh.

Hi
I,m learning a bit of resolve to help my father
not sure if thiswill work
near the v1 and v2 there appear small padlock icons
these might lock unlock the video track
perhaps try clicking on one of these?
