Dear Blackmagic Design,
Are these new updates tested and supported in Resolve 9.1? Please let us know when it is safe to update.

The problem with 10.8.3 is that the previous versions of CUDA no longer works. Not only do you get a CUDA warning message but when you try to run Resolve, it crashes.

Even though the old CUDA preferences panel says that there's no newer driver, nVidia released a new version compatible with 10.8.3. You can get it at:

After installing it, the CUDA warning is gone and Resolve works great. I did this and finished grading a feature length documentary yesterday without a glitch. In fact, it seems that Resolve is even more stable now.

Based on our initial testing and feedback from other users, there are no known issues. This applies to both the CUDA and OpenCL configurations.

You will need to update your CUDA after you upgrade the OS.

That's funny. I'm still on 10.8.2, but my CUDA system preferences shows the 5.0.45 update available.

Hey,
Any and all help would be appreciated with this.
I'm using resolve to transcode Ikonoskop cinemaDNGs to MXF DNxHD 1080p 36 8 bits at edit house request.
I'm running on average 10-18fps. I was getting realtime and faster (24fps and up) playback when I tested on 10.8.2, but updated to 10.8.3, and I'm almost sure it's running slower. I'm on a job currently, and this is messing me up, so any help asap would me very much appreciated.

Also, I noticed and not sure if it makes a difference, but under preferences it only displays my 570 as gpu. Says nothing about ati radeon as gui, but my mac recognizes it. To make it work, I'm running external power to it.

Latest CUDA update 5.0.45 (10.8.3) & GPU driver 304.10.65f03

GUI - ATI RADEON 5770 (2nd slot)
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 2560mb (1st slot)
Mac Pro 5,1
2x2.66GHz 6-Core Intel XEON
12GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Thanks!

I found a bug/solution.

In my render settings, I played with the Render at preset. Set at 25fps, it goes at a steady 25fps. No problem. If I put it on 50fps, or maximum fps, it crawls.

I recommend you [davinci resolve staff] look into this. Unless this is a known problem?

See my system specs in previous post.
