Resolve Live Latency?

PostFri Jun 30, 2017 9:05 am

I have been trying to use a separate PC with a BM mini recorder and Resolve Live mode to give me a decent full screen scope. There is a considerable delay on the live feed which means it's not useful for grading as you're waiting around for it to catch up. Even a small delay is annoying. I tried a beefier GPU (Quadro M4000) but it didn't affect it.

Has anyone had good real-time or near real-time performance? I want to know whether to bother trying other machines or if it just isn't a capability of Resolve Live.

i've been thinking of trying the same. so i found your old post.
usually there is something like a 3-4 frame latency on video capture, at least on the BM thunderbolt ones i've used (in other settings).
did you test any further?
i like the BM scopes better than the scopebox ones, atm, but if the latency hasn't improved, i'll just keep running them on the same computer

There is significant latency. It's not designed for real time grading operations. It designed for on set look creation.
