Snapping clips without the magnet

PostWed Jul 12, 2017 7:43 am

Hi all.
New user here, learning Resolve 12.5 and tossing Movie Studio in the trashcan for good.

One of the things that I can't wrap my head around is when I'm trying to sync up sound effects to music/speech. I've found that even though I'm turning off the snap tool (magnet), my tracks still snap to something in the timeline, not allowing me to exactly align the waveforms.

Does anyone know if I can configure this somewhere, so that when the snap is off, it's REALLY off?

Would also be nice to be able to override snapping by dragging and holding a key, such as in Movie Studio, dragging a clip with CTRL key down disables snapping altogether.

Comments appreciated
