Wrong Media File Format with Avid AAF-Export

PostWed Jul 19, 2017 12:01 pm

When I render/export 1080/50p media with Avid AAF setting, I selected "DNxHD 1080p 220/185/175 8 bit" for render format.
Export runs well, however the file format is DNxHD 365 and not the defined DNxHD 220 format.

For the 1080 / 50p, having an Avid DNxHD 365 seems correct to me.

If DNxHD 365 is the correct setting, why is it not reflected in the drop-down list of selectable codecs?

I tested AAF-Export with codec setting "DNxHD 1080p 145/120/115 8 bit", and the rendered clip was in DNxHD 240.

I think, the drop-down menu selection of codecs should be modified in a future version.

Those bitrates must be for 25p and the net result is roughly twice since you're at 50p - or something along those lines... Otherwise you would get much worse quality then you would expect from DNxHD 220

Maybe I'm talking crazy :)
