Cannot Relink Files : PLEASSE HELP !

PostFri Jul 21, 2017 5:29 pm

Hi ,
I am in the middle of a 90 mn project (Documentary)
I finished grading and decided to free some disk space and so i deleted the optimized media files,
BUT : all my timeline went offline :o
checked the media pool and found out that all files became offline there too !!

- tried to relink files in the media pool : NO SUCCESS
- Manually put files on the media pool and tried to relink files from timeline : NO SUCCESS.

The only way relinking worked is:
to manually search a file in the media pool
Then "Force Conform with media pool Clip",
but this is very very time consuming
and the project has 1162 clips !!

i tried to save a copy of the project 3 times :
All copies are located in the Project Folder (including my master project which is offline now)
each project is there with their respective "Project.db" file

BUT : these projects do not show in the media manager !!

Is there any solution to this please ?
Is there anyway i could restore my project or opening the "Project.db" file ?

ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED
THIS IS AN EXTREMELY URGENT SITUATION
THAN YOU IN ADVANCE.

things to try;
1) open the last good project, export XML, create new project, import media, import XML, color trace
2) open bin with newly linked media, close all other and try "re-conform from bin"
30 export DRP (this should be done at least every day, twice a day is better) and open that

How did you delete the optimized media? Did you just trash the CacheClip folder or did you use the menu item Delete Optimized Media?

And did you deselect Use Optimized Media if Available?

Good luck!
