Export stereo to two mono channels.

PostThu Aug 10, 2017 4:05 pm

12.5 had the option of exporting one track per channel. I was expecting the new 'render on track per channel' button to do the same thing but it still shoves both channels into one track.

On the timeline we have the same thing rendered with v14b6 followed by 12.5. Note that 12.5 rendered two mono tracks.

Am I doing something wrong here or has this feature being taken away? I need it to export this way as the company we use to deliver our ads in the UK (IMD) require the audio to be like this. I've tried every possible way of exporting audio from 14b6 but they are bouncing everything I send them.

With V14B6: what is the CODEC video?

There may be a simpler solution with V14B6 but:
(Edit tab)
1) I have 2 tracks Stereo to get 2 monos
2) I change the bus in mono
(Fairlight tab)
3) adds a mono bus (for the 2nd track)
4) I assign a stereo track per bus
5) I have a stereo track per mono bus
6) Make it audio with output one track (stereo) per bus / mono

We have ongoing work for our Fairlight integration and this workflow is one we have yet to get through.

When can we expect a return of this feature? I've just had to run 51 files through Adobe Media Encoder purely because Resolve could once do this but now cannot.

*EDIT*

It looks like the 'Render One Track Per Channel' tick box now does what it sounds like it should do. Need to do some tests tomorrow but hopefully I can now get back to my previous workflow.

Hi chrisbrearley,

But I just tested and it still works since Aug 10, 2017 5:55 pm
Can you explain why it does not work for you? (where did I lose something?)

Hi Jean Claude. Your workaround may work but is a large number of extra steps when to have to go through for 51 timelines. Previously my preset worked did the job for me.
