Paste Timecode

PostThu Aug 10, 2017 6:38 pm

Is there a way to paste timecode into my sequence and have Resolve jump to that point in the sequence? I know I can type TC in manually and blindly (since I cant see it being typed which is amazingly crazy), but is there a way to paste TC? Im having a hard time believing that in a piece of software like this I cant paste a TC reference into resolve and have it jump to that point in the sequence...??
Configuration:
Resolve Studio (Always the Latest)
Windows 11 Pro Workstation
32 Core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 256GB RAM
RTX 4090
RTX 3090
100G NAS

We've asked so many times this very simple feature to Blackmagic...

Mike, fwiw, you should be able to see what you are typing in the upper right of the Timeline Viewer.

That said, the timecode display options in Resolve are pretty lacking.

1. It would be nice, for example, to be able to have the left TC window in the Timeline Viewer to display duration of the selected clip in the timeline. Instead, after selecting a clip in the timeline, it continues to display the duration of the entire timeline. I don't for sure how others work, but timeline duration is in most instances pretty useless when editing.

2. A nice feature in Media Composer is that if you enter let's say +5. to move forward five seconds, pressing just Enter will execute the move forward five seconds command again. Making it very easy to move quickly in fixed increments.

3. And we should be able to type In and Out values directly into the bin.

When you have to set something like 30 chapters, what a WASTE of time to re-type them again. And with a risk of mistake which forces to double-check.
