Cannot install Beta7 due to failing deinstallation of Beta6

PostWed Aug 16, 2017 7:02 pm

When running the Resolve Beta 7 installer, it fails to locate the Beta 6 uninstaller (ResolveInstaller.msi) in the users AppData\Local\temp directory. Searching my whole C drive also does not turn up any hits.

I do not know what went wrong here, but using the Windows application deinstallation fails as well with the same reason.

As the installer seems to insist on deinstalling the previous version, is there any other way to cleanly get rid of Beta 6?

I tried running the B6 installer now, but this one tells me that a newer version is already installed, which I should remove first.

Try running this MicroSoft Fixit and see if that helps:

Thanks Dwaine, but I just managed to manually extract ResolveInstaller.msi from the B6 installer and point to it when the B7 installer is not finding it.

So B7 installed fine now, but already got two crashes when testing it with my previous project. I will do some more tests and post crash logs in a new thread if required.
