Masks for text in Resolve

PostMon Sep 04, 2017 1:44 am

It would be great to be able to apply masks (of all kinds) to text in Resolve without having to create a comp clip then round-tripping to Fusion. I suppose this has something to do with how text and generators are created (without timecode...as displayed in the metadata tab)??

It is possible to mask out unwanted text (or even reveal it) using the Cropping Tool on the Edit page. I'll use this sometimes when I'm doing a generic slate on multiple pieces and don't feel like redoing the whole thing. It is true that none of the generators will allow you to color correct or change Alphas until you consolidate them as an actual video clip.
