animating effects and bluring png

Hi am conforming everything in resolve for the first time and wanted to know if there is any way to add curves to animation on effects - like you can on say an opacity change? I want to blur a shot, but have and ease out and an ease in. I also need to do a blur on a png but when i do the alpha screws with it or something. there is probably something obvious I am missing on both concepts! any help gratefully received.
