Ungrouped Smart Filter

I work a lot with grouping of clips by scene or type, often I'll group every clip in a project. Lately I've been making an "Ungrouped" group and then I group everything from that, and I'm able to see what's ungrouped so I don't miss anything. It's working but it puts the little green grouped icon by all the clips, which isn't the end of the world but it's not optimal.

I looked into creating a smart filter, but putting a star * sign in there doesn't do it and I don't know what would. Anybody have a good idea on creating a smart filter for ungrouped clips?

also a smart filter for remote/local grades would be great too
