Audio Clip Pan REMOVED! - BM Support has responded

PostThu Sep 21, 2017 7:37 am

Got a 90 min documentary, originating in FCP7 with a lot of panned audio clips.

XML imported into DR 12.5.6, everything seems ok.
In DR 14, clip pan is GONE, except in the 'Remove attributes' menu (greyed out).

Question:

While editing in DR 14, will the clip pan data be erased from the project when saved?

Or will the clip pan data be 'preserved' in the edited project and reappear when opened in 14.1 ?

(assuming clip pan will return in the next version)

Thanks for contacting the Blackmagic Design Technical Support team.

Currently, the clip pan information included in the XML is not supported in Resolve 14, however I believe that this has been passed on to our development team and is currently under investigation.
It is possible that this behaviour may be resolved in a future release of DaVinci Resolve.

In the meantime, a workaround to the behaviour may be to continue to work in Resolve 12.5.6, in order to make use of the clip pan information included in the XML file.

Well, at least now you know. That's something. I've run across several bugs and still have no idea if BM is even aware of the issues.

You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Nothing. I do. I just don't get responses on most issues.
