There are some discussions about Dongles and Licences but there is no answer how an online purchase of a Licence is possible - do we really have to buy a serial number in a box that will be sent via postal service to our home adress?

Correct. There is no online purchase option of the license other than via the App Store. You'd have to contact an authorized reseller for the purchase of the serial registration code to be sent to you.

Are there any plans to offer purely digital purchases? Moving to activation codes allows for this - - in fact I'm sure a lot of us assumed this was the very point of them to begin with -- but still requiring some dead tree to be sent via post just to then key it in for an online activation is perplexingly arcane.

Perhaps it's more secure to do it this way?

Our product sales are all currently through our reseller/dealer channel network and this includes the DaVinci Resolve Studio with Activation key.

Does that mean it's left up to the individual reseller/dealer to conduct a purely online transaction if they choose?

Just a FYI
I have been trying to buy the activation key version of Resolve Studio 14 from everyone of your listed online resellers and also AbleCine via phone to a sales rep. without any luck. everyone say they are only selling the dongle version. very frustrating.
any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

I had an online chat with B&H yesterday, and they said that they are still waiting for the SKU from Blackmagic for the code version. But once they receive it, they think an online purchase might be possible (didn’t promise anything).

Are there any resellers offering a purely online purchase yet?

Thanks for clarifying that Tony. I imagine there's a reason for it, but from the outside looking in, it sure is a head scratcher.

That one has a shippment so it's not just the key. For the people that lives in countries like mine (Haiti) we will appreciate to buy just a code that doesn't need to be shipped to our house (it could be via email).

To make it clear once again, we ship dongles and ship activation keys purchases through a reseller. In either case, a box is delivered.

Well fine! But you seem so inflexible with no explanation about this.
From my user side: I made a significant amount of money with the free version in the last 3 years so every 6 months or so I'm ready to buy it, even when it was 1000 dollars... So I go online.. and what ?: ...Too complicated. Let's get back to work. Could you consider this ?

+ I'm in Switzerland and the purchase links are German.
