Finding 14 Less Stable than Betas--Crash Report

PostSat Sep 23, 2017 6:07 am

I've been finding 14 to crash quite a bit more than the betas did. This crash happened when I was moving a power window.

Here's the crash report:

And I have Live Save enabled, but I don't see a lot of the work I did prior to the crash.

I updated my video driver to the latest version, thinking that that *might* be the culprit. But alas, another crash, this time when enabling Use Optimized Media if Available.

For a test: disable Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0.
Is it better ?

I'm hesitant to do that, but I might have to try it simply b/c the current situation is getting unworkable.

After about five mins of work, everything crawled to a halt. Muting a mono audio track would cause a spinning wheel. And then I can do a few more actions, and then a crash.

Very welcome. BTW, I believe that Jean is right that it has something to do with the Intensity Shuttle.

Hi PeterMoretti,

I just to propose this test because I happened once to have a problem with DR V14.0 (release). In fact it was rather a problem with an upgrade of the driver of my Decklink 4K. => BSOD.(I had not uninstalled the previous version.)

I reinstalled and then it is better (cross fingers :) )

Another thing to check: a nearly-full cache disk will cause a massive slowdown and crashes.

Thanks for the tip Robert! I did check the cache disk and it's only half full, but very good to know.

Tried reinstalling Desktop Video 10.9.7. While Resolve hasn't officially crashed when using the Shuttle, it repetitively slows down/halts for about half a minute and then come back to life. This makes the Shuttle truly unusable.

Another crash, this time with Intensity Shuttle not active.

Here's the log file:

And another crash. It maybe related to Izotope RX 6 which I just installed. Here's the log:

And crashed again as soon as I opened the project:

Hi Peter, I installed 14.0.1 and while 14 isn't literally crashing, it is hanging for about five minutes before coming back to life when the Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0 is active. I'm able to work for only another five or ten minutes, and then another five minute hang.

The odd thing is that Windows' Task Manager doesn't show high CPU, memory or disk usage; CPU usage is around 4%.

Here's the log file:

Thanks so much for the help!
