Resolve 14 video display and scaling issue

PostSun Sep 24, 2017 6:23 pm

I've just upgraded to Windows 10 and installed Resolve 14. At first everything seemed fine... but...

My camera original is 2048x1152 ProRes 4444.

My timeline needs to be 2048x858 (center crop) and I set it to that setting.

My Display is an Eizo CX271 fed from Decklink 4k through HDMI.

When I set in settings, the video output to 1920x1080p 23.98fps, the sides of the image are cropped equally on each side. IOW, I'm seeing a 1920x1080 crop.

When I set the video output to 2k 1080P 23.98, the left side of the image is cropped. The viewer in the GUI looks correct.

There seems to be no way to see the entire frame on my display. I never had this issue in Resolve 12. Is there a bug here in Resolve 14? Or have I missed something? Thanks!

went back to Resolve 12.5 and still the same problem. Right now there's no way for me to see the entire frame from a 2k timeline out my Decklink 4k HDMI output.

So that leaves two things I think, Decklink 4k device driver or Windows 10. Any thoughts? I did update the decklink driver when I installed Windows 10. Is there an older driver that works with Windows 10 that might fix this issue?

Go to project settings and then open display settings in one of the tabs.

Unclick "Match Timeline Settings" which comes as default. Set your display to HD or to 1920x804.

Select "full frame with crop".

Save the settings. Get out of the project. Relaunch the project.

Your problem should be solved.
