Resolve on linux will not play sound without a Decklink card

I discovered that Davinci Resolve on linux will not play sound without a DeckLink card. I'm assuming that the DeckLink Mini Monitor will work. I'm hoping someone can confirm this. DeckLink Mini Monitor is $145. Is this the cheapest option for getting audio to work with linux?
