Problem with 3D timeline

PostMon Oct 09, 2017 6:19 pm

Hi
I work on a 3D film and I have a bug on 14.0.1

When I select a clip on the timeline, Resolve quits. I can't select a clip or move it. It just quits anytime I try.

What can I do ?

I tried to reinstall 12.5.6 but it seems that it's impossible to reload converted database when you used it with 14.0.1.
It seems that some clips are cause of this problem. They worked perfectly fine with 12.5.6...
Great...
So now my problem is becoming urgent. I just can't work.

What’s the clip that causes the crash?
System details? OS?

It's a 3D clip. I paired it from two eyes of the same shot. it worked in 12.5.6
I am on Mac os X 12.12.6
MacPro 5,1 with X5690 CPUs and NVIDIA Titan X

The only things I can do with it is to play it and to change its length wit the selection arrow on the timeline.
If I just click on it or try to select it, Resolve crashes

In fact I have the same problem with almost all of the 3D clips I paired.
This worked perfectly in 12.5.6

Just stick with the 12.5.6! You know this one WILL work up to the end!

You mean you ****** up your database containing important work, in the middle of a production, without any backup ? Sounds pretty crazy...
Can't you export anything from v14 you could then reimport into v12 ?
How far did you go while in v12 ? Is starting over on v12 something you could think about ?

I understand you'd prefer BM engineers to quickly find what's wrong, but I guess it'll be too late for you whatever...

You could also try to duplicate your project, and try to remove elements until you fix the issue, if you think some clips are responsible. You could try first to xml export, then remove your sequence, and reimport the xml. Or get rid of S3D clips and recreate pairs, things like that...

It is a personal project so I can handle to begin it all again.
I did not really begin to work on it, i just paired my 3D clips and put them on a timeline. That's all
But I think I have an idea on the cause of the problem, I have to check that.

ok, let me know if you happen to explain the issue, it's always worth to know that kinda things, as we're not that many playing with stereo clips around here, those days!

btw, I've just published some S3D material this night, do you wanna have a look ?
it's here :https://youtu.be/AZAPGjOWYeQ

have a nice day!

I found the problem :
In fact when I use clip form a rig I have to flip the right eye.
And i use fils names with /
The addition of the 2 was the source of the problem.
I realized that when I saw I didi not have the problem with 3d clip where the right eye was already flipped before the pairing.
I checked on 2 clips and it worked. I will change the names of all the fils with problems and see if this is confirmed.

Ok, now, let's have a look to your videos !

Glad you've finally found the issue!

What would you think about switching to french, as we're both ?
Or get in touch thru facebook or whatever ?
