Media Offline shown in Project Manager

PostThu Oct 12, 2017 2:16 pm

Hi there,
I have tried to read as many post as I can on this but haven't yet found the cause.

If a project has no render cache or optimised media, I get a scrubbable preview image in the Project Manager. If it does have a render cache or optimised media I get a 'Media Offline' warning instead. This goes away if I delete all caches for the project.

The database and cache folder are on the internal SSD, the media files are on an external HDD. The external HDD causes no other media offline issues. And when I open a project stamped as Media Offline, everything is online.

Any advice appreciated.

I have the same/similar issue. I also get the Offline red warning in the preview window when in Edit mode. The only difference is that I get the audio when playing it in the preview or timeline viewer, but no visual.

I imagine the responses would be inclined to the fact we're both using macbook pros and not using specifically built workhorse workstations for the video editing.

I have the same problem. Although it doesn't effect the actual work, but it is definitely an eyesore.

Seen it myself for as long as I've used Resolve. I figured it was so obvious that it would have been fixed by now, so I didn't mention it. And believe it or not, I really do try to prioritize my requests and bug alerts, lol!

Happening to me as well. On a windows PC. Not sure that caused it but projects are working fine.

I don't. Not always. Seems to be hit or miss when this 'feature' works correctly. My thought is that BMD needs to debug some more.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
