Audio on Linux (and some other linux related questions)

Does DaVinci Resolve 14 on Linux (CentOS) support audio without specialised hardware? I know this was a problem with the beta. I am contemplating setting up one of my laptops* as a video editing workstation, but need to know if the audio works with the internal sound hardware, before wiping it clean and installing CentOS.

Also, is the 16GB RAM limit absolute? I see that the windows version only require 8GB of RAM.

I am mostly doing light editing with older 1080p footage from my Canon 550D (H.264 files).

I am afraid native Linux audio does not work in 14. This is a big disappointment for me, as it means Resolve is not a viable solution for editing on the go with a laptop.

Maybe add this as a feature request for version 15?
