How to achieve a VHS rewind glitch effect?

PostMon Oct 16, 2017 12:34 pm

I want to achieve a VHS rewind glitch effect, but what is the best way to do this without buying a special plugin e.g. sapphire. In Premiere I can do this easily with the noise effect and wave warp effect.

Is there an easy way to do this in Resolve without buying extra plugins?

i think i would re-time the footage and put something like this on top:

maybe put an extra layer of your footage on top again with a crop/transform effect for a few frames, do this again but a little different, etc. play around.

Play out the footage via composite cable to a VHS player. Play back the tape, capture the output from the player and rewind.
