problem importing project from mac to windows

PostFri Oct 20, 2017 3:04 am

Hi guys, I am having trouble importing a DR14 lite project from an imac to a windows 10 pc running DR14 studio.

I originally created the project on the pc then imported into the mac. It opened fine.

Then trying to re-import the project back into the pc DR crashes.

I can import that same file into my macbook (DR14 lite) without issue. So the .drp is ok from mac to mac.

I tried to save as a copy and export from my macbook then import on my pc and also got a crash.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Peter,

Would you be able to capture and post logs (from Help menu) soon after a crash. Please also include links to your initial (successful) and current (crashing) projects as drp files.

Thanks

Hi Shrinivas,

thanks for your help,

here is a link to the file and a screen grab of the crash log attached.

I was both successful and unsuccessful with the same drp - successful importing on my macbook (from imac) and not successful importing on my windows pc. Cheers.

The only logs we are keen to see are the ones we generate for the help menu.

My apologies, here is a link to the whole folder exported from the help menu. I hope it has what you need. Many thanks.

I have solved this problem, I got the guy to copy and paste all folders into a new project and re-export the drp. It opened on my end just as it should.

UPDATE: problem not quite resolved... when the project folders were copied the multicam clips were accidentally left out. When the multicam clips were included the issue came back, crash on import. So I guess the multicam clips are the issue here. I would be interested if anyone could recreate this issue.

Now this is resolved thanks to Rohit for the assistance.

The mac was running 14.0.1, the pc was 14.0.0.

Rohit deduced from my logs that the project on the mac had 7.1 audio files which is a feature not included in 14.0.0. This was the reason I couldn't import the project.

So my mistake for not checking the systems had the exact same version, however I don't know why DR continues to automatically change audio files to 5.1 and now 7.1 when they are not.

A lot of my work is documentary editing and I am always having to change 5.1 audio back to mono tracks.

Is there an option to turn this auto switching off?
