Desperately in need of help guys (clips breaking into many)

PostSat Nov 11, 2017 9:15 pm

Desperately in need of help guys.

I shot a film on the ursa mini 4k (not 4.6k) problem is when i open the files in resolve 14, some scenes were broken in different pieces.
On the harddrive, these scenes are in one folder under one name (as its suppose to be), but in resolve these scenes break into many clips.
Is there any thing i can do to open them as one clip?

Click the three dots in the upper right corner and deselect "show individual frames".

Could be dropped frames or damage -- if the clips aren't sequential, they may not read as one file. Is it true of all your clips, or just one?

Just checked now, it was dropped frames :(
everytime there is a drop frame it shows up as a seperate clip in resolve.
Seems like the only solution i have is to open them in Premiere cc......

thanks for your help dude

Why would there be (so many) dropped frames?

If I want to provide a link to some of the footage, I can take a look at it.

Can you upload it to Dropbox or a similar service and provide a link?

Maybe you had a faulty or fake card and the camera was not set to stop at dropped frames?
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Yeah, basically either faulty media, or slow/cheap media that doesn't meet spec speed. Your DP should have realized there was a problem when he started getting dropped frame warnings on the shoot. Also, a simple search would have given you your answer since this has come up so often on this forum.
