Optimized Media not being used in source viewer

I created optimized media but it is not being used when viewing clips from within the Media tab or on the source viewer (left pane on the Edit tab). The timeline viewer (right pane on Edit tab) uses the optimized media just fine.

Is this how it is suppose to work or do I have a setting wrong somewhere?
