DaVinci Resolve transitions trouble

PostWed Dec 06, 2017 3:35 am

Hi guys,
I can't figure out some issues with DaVinci Resolve 14.
Maybe you can help.

1. Shadow cast from the object. In Vegas I just duplicate layer, put brightness to 0, use blur and shadow underlayer is ready. In Premiere pro there is a feature build it for this matter.
I can't find any option for shadow cast in DaVinci Resolve and Vagas method doesn't work here.
2. Push\Slide transitions. These one are huge. I use them a lot of my videos just to bring\take out an object from the screen. Here in DaVinci Resolve these two guys work weird. As soon as you add push\slide to any of your clip - it makes all timeline slide\push during it and i want to bring just scaled object. :o

Thank you for answers and help.

Did you ever work out how to fix these?

I normally use the push transition and slide transition to place things on the screen, but as it moves everything it's becoming impossible.

I'm also gutted there's no blur transition (premiere had impact push)

Am I missing something... I use the blur transition a lot in Resolve 14 and it works just fine.

Sorry, I meant "push blur" - similar to this -

I was also an Impact Push fan in Premiere. So I'll just mention that as of Resolve 17b9 there's a motion blur slider built into the Push transition. Huzzah!
