Cross Disolve Turns Black

Hi Guys I'm a newbie to Resolve coming from Vegas and I love the program so far but I think I'm experiencing a few bugs that are are frustrating.

When I place a simple cross dissolve on a video track to transition between two clips, when played back the playback screen turns black during the cross dissolve.

Other transitions don't seem to do this just the cross resolve....I've looked at all the settings in the Inspector but everything looks okay.

When the video is rendered, it looks fine but it's frustrating when working on the timeline because I can't see how the transition looks.

Tell us about your hardware, which codec and which format you are working in.

Try deleting all renders that may still be involved if you made tests and try again.

Laptop with an Intel I7-7500 CPU @ 2.70 GHZ, 12GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 620

The video is from an action cam, H.264 1080 30fps

I deleted the entire project and created a new one adding two clips and then the cross resolve with the same issue happening.

I notice there is a red marker next to this transition, could that effect it?
