Error message when I try to launch DaVinci Resolve 14.2

PostSun Jan 07, 2018 5:13 am

Good Night,

I am getting the following error message when I try to launch the free version of DaVinci Resolve 14.2

DaVinci Resolve could not find any OpenCL capable GPUs.

I am using a Intel(R) HD Graphics card.

Please advise if this card is suitable to run the DaVinci Resolve 14.2 program.

Regards,

Hi Vaughn, your system is not powerful enough for Resolve. Too little RAM, CPU too small and the screen res is not high enough.

Please review viewtopic.php?f=21&t=62582 if you would like to configure a system for Resolve.

You are going to need a newer, more powerful computer to run Resolve. An i7 4 core processor, At least 16gb RAM, and a graphics card with a minimum of 2gb VRAM, though 4gb would be better, and a CUDA rating of 3.0 or above.
Resolve Studio 18.6.6 build 7
Dell XPS 8700 i7-4790, 24GB RAM, 2 x Evo 860 SSDs, GTX1060/6GB (546.01 Studio Driver), Win10 Home (22H2), Speed Editor, Faderport mk1, Eizo ColorEdge CS230 + BenQ GW2270 + Samsung SA200, Canon C100mk2, Zoom H2n.

Hi,

I keep getting the following message after I installed Davinci Resolve 15.

"DaVinci Resolve could find any OpenCL capable GPUs. Would you like to review and update your DaVinci Resolve Hardware Configuration?... Please ensure that appropriate GPU drivers are installed and your DaVinci Resolve hardware is configured appropriately."

What can I do to solve this problem?

Thank you in advance,

Which GPU do you have?
No, an iGPU is not enough, and you can't use HEVC 10 bit 4:2:2 in the free version.

Studio 18.6.5, MacOS 13.6.5
MacBook M1 Pro, 16 GPU cores, 32 GB RAM and iPhone 15 Pro

That Intel graphics is massively underpowered for Resolve, it will never run on 112 MB VRAM.
Please check the configuration guide, and this might be helpful too: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=77596

What driver did you install? What type of GPU do you have? Does reverting to the previous driver fix the issue, and if so, what version is that?

I am now getting this issue after restarting my computer. It gives me the, "No Cuda excellerated devices" Thing. I've got an i7 8700K, GTX 1080ti, and 32gb of DDR4. I should have no issue here, but it seems as though it just gave up on trying to find my GPU.

Same problem for me but with OpenCL. Did you resolve the problem?

Everything worked fine until 3 days ago and I updated my graphic driver.
Since, I cannot launch Resolve in OpenCL mode, but it works fine in Cuda.

The problem is that I need OpenCL for Lut Gallery plug-in.

My configuration:
Windows 10 - Da Vinci Resolve 14.2
Intel I7-5820K - 32Go DDR4 - GTX980Ti

Thanks for your help.

That's not enough RAM and we only support Windows 10.

And the HD4600 GPU is not adequate.

So no, Resolve won't work on that laptop.

Hi, I'm getting the same error described in the first message of this thread, but so far I think my setup should powerful enough to run Resolve. My specs are the following:
Ryzen 5 2600 @4,0GHz
16 GB RAM @ 2666MHz
AMD RX 590 8GB GDDR5
I have the software installed in a secondary disk, thanks in advance for any response.

I don't know much about hardware so if you need anymore info about the computer settings please let me know where I can find it. But Im trying to open Davinci 15.2.2 and am getting the same Open CL GPU error message. I also downloaded Fusion 9. It opens fine, but there is an error message in the "console" section that says

"OpenCL clGetPlatformIDs failed: CL_PLATFORM_NOT_FOUND_KHR
OpenCL clGetPlatformIDs failed: CL_PLATFORM_NOT_FOUND_KHR"

Any suggestions on how I would fix this?

You should provide us with Resolve logs and detailed system information files as described in this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=90190

Please don't post log dumps and long detailed system info dumps in a message. We need them in file form, as described in the thread link above.

No direct experience with GM108, but specs look like it should work.

We need Resolve logs and system info. Assuming you are running a Windows 10 laptop, the following would be a start:

In a File Explorer window, go to:

C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve

and run CaptureLogs

This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).

Then open Windows System Information and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file.

Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here.

We only support Resolve Linux on RHEL/CentOS 7.x.

The MX130 doesn't show up on any of the NVIDIA CUDA compatibility lists I checked, or on the CUDA Wiki. But if it indeed uses a GM108 process, and has 2GB or more of VRAM, it seems like it should work in a supported Resolve environment.

Rashid,
Is your problem with installing the application? or is it with starting it up after installation?

Please update your post with at least the fundamental information that this FAQ asks for: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=90190#p503151. If you can install but not start up, please refer to the Logs section in that FAQ to check how to generate a log archive.

Please also check that you have (cleanly) installed a recent stable AMD graphics driver and make sure that the amount fo video RAM set for the integrated chip is at least 4 GB. Please refer to the Drivers and Updates section in that FAQ.

Lastly, please understand the limitations of the Ryzen2700U processor and the integrated chipset - and how they will impact your work on DaVinci Resolve.

Just downloaded Davinci Resolve 16 and upon opening, got "DaVinci Resolve could not find any OpenCL capable GPUs." My laptop is circa 2011. Is there hope for me?

The Intel HD Graphics GPU in your system will not support Resolve.

Given all my other specs, is there something I can upgrade to, and if so what would you recommend?

If you are asking if there is something that can be upgraded in your current computer, no, there is not. It simply is incapable of running Resolve.

Hi Linda

Please check minimum requirements as listed in each release, as well as the hardware requirements section in the FAQs. Many forum users include hardware signatures in their posts - these may give you a good starting point of what works.
