Problem with importing CDL into v 14

PostTue Jan 09, 2018 6:52 pm

I seem to be unable to import CDL files into Resolve 14. The manual outlines the same process as 12.5, where I was able to import just fine. But in Resolve 14, when I try to import into the gallery, the CDL files are greyed out and unselectable, and there is no longer an option to select "CDL" as a format in the import window.

Is there a workaround or solution to this? Thanks!

Are you on OSX per chance? If so, then I know the work-around. For reasons known only to them, the Resolve developers chose to make it impossible to load the CDLs without knowing a secret handshake. The secret to the handshake can be found here: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread ... ost1777437

Secret handshake?

The Gallery Import menu supports different file types for different purposes.

So it has a file type selection menu at the bottom of the Import file select window.

That selection defaults to DPX, as that's what most likely going to be imported.

If you want to import some other file type, you simply select that file type in the selection menu, and then those files become available to select in the file list.

That's not how it works on OSX:

Until somebody clued me in, I had no idea that to enable those hidden filetypes, one had to click the "Options" button, which I never saw because I was looking so hard for some time of filetype selector. That's the secret handshake that does not need to exist.

On MAC I do not know - unless it's a protected or hidden file? - Maybe check? Access right problem in the directory?
On PC, it's presented like that.
