Export "Same As Source" Files without Reencoding/Transcoding

PostThu Jan 11, 2018 11:01 am

Hey folks.

Is there an option to render ProRes MOVs from timeline back to ProRes withour recompression?
Adobe calls this "smart rendering", FCP7 has this feature when your sequenze has the same settings as your footage. Even Avid does this with DNxHD.

For example: I finished my Color Grading and export to ProRes4444. Now, during QC there is one shot with a wrong LUT or whatever and I want to assamble (insert) this new shot only on my existing master.
This should work extremly fast (only a new datastream will be written, so the bottleneck would be my storage).

There is the new "CBR" feature, but how does it help within Resolve (import/export)?

Thanks for your Help.

I've been wanting to find an option to export a project with the same quality/file size settings as source, but I haven't found one either. I hope someone in the community would help. Best of luck.
