Davinci Resolve 14 stops working

As soon as I start playing an MP4 video to edit, the software stops working and I get a message that the Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 debugger is out of date. When I click OK, the editor closes. Any Idea where to start looking for the problem?

If you are on Win7 you will need to be on W10 and detail which version of resolve, hardware, clip type etc.
