R14 crashes with BM Intesity Pro activ

PostMon Jan 15, 2018 4:29 pm

Hi,

my R14 always crashes when I load Canon RAW Lite and the Intensity card is activ. When I disable the card in the hardware manager it works.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Tobias

You don't mention what version of desktop video you have installed.

Can you try Desktop Video 10.9.10 from the support web page.

Resolve 14 does not work with the Quadro 4000 card using CUDA processing.

If you are using OpenCL GPU processing to get around that, while it may sort of work, that card is still not adequate, and MIGHT be causing the issue. It will certainly cause issues if you try to use LUTs.

A better GPU card would be helpful. Something like a GTX1050 or 1050Ti using CUDA GPU processing would give you much better performance and be properly supported.

With the new Graphic Card it works good now. Very fast... from my point of view :-)

The crashes just happen when I have the Intensity card active and switch the timeline to the resolution of the footage (4K DCI). In After Effects and Premiere there was always a button to scale down a Signal to FullHD (like the Monitor is) without a problem.

Is there any solution for that problem?

Have you tried Desktop Video 10.9.10?

Are you using Resolve version 14.2?

Please give Resolve 14.2.1 a try and let us know if that solves the issue.

Ok... I gave it a try... but I don´t know where to start. It crashes every 3rd til 2nd time. I don´t know why and not really when - means I cannot really reproduce these crashes every time. Sometimes yes, somtimes not.

One Example:
I make a new projekt. Import some Material, Canon Raw Lite, in 4K DCI 25fps. I drag it into the timeline, the program asks to change the timeline, I push yes.... everxthing works fine. Great!
Then I just switch the timeline resolution to 4K DCI. Push ok... everything works. When I now switch from color to Edit - it crashes. Every time.

Other example: (and this are the really bad ones)
I made some shots (Canon Raw Lite, in 4K DCI 25fps). Put them into Resolve. Edit them, do some stuff - not really exactly know what - stuff you do in editing.... Then I save the project. And when I come back the next day, DaVinci always crashes when I try to open that project. This really really costs me a lot of working time.

I´m getting really really anoyed of that whacky software. I wanted to buy a mini controlpanel and switch my company over to Resolve. But since I got it I just have problems with stuff I don´t wanna care for. "Use this Os, try this Resolve version, take this Graphjic Card, use that Desktop Video version, don´t use it with I intensity card!" And... I did all that... and it still doesn´t work. I hope that I´m just to stupid to use this software, and I just forgot to push the "Dont Crash"-Button in the setting.

Thanks fol helping.
