Dolby E problems

PostWed Jan 17, 2018 8:41 am

We tested a playback/decode of a prores file with DolbyE on Channels 5&6 with Resolve 14.2
For the record, we have a DP570 and a DP572.
Our Video&Audio i/o System Preferences are defined like this
Monitor set format : Stereo
Left : Out 5
Right: Out 6

In the Fairlight Page we succeed to playback/decode the DolbyE.

But we noticed some things.
1- In the Edit Page or in the Color Page, the DolbyE decoding no longer work.
It's a problem when we proceed to a QC. We must be able to play the Video (with scopes) AND decode the DolbyE together.
We tried to open/show the scope window in the viewer of the Fairlight Page. There is no menu in the viewer and no scopes.
It would be great if we could playback/decode our DolbyE in the other pages or add the scopes window in Fairlight Page

2- When we want to playback and decode our DolbyE, we must Mute all other tracks.
The Solo Button doesn’t work.

3- We have tested the DolbyE playback and decode with other files in Resolve 14.2
- Prores Proxy From Transkoder > No decode
- XAVC 300CBG From Transkoder > No decode
We opened the Prores Proxy From Transkoder in BlackMagic Media Express > Decode OK.

Maybe there’s something in the Header of these files that Resolve 14.2 doesn’t like.
