Power window bug? Tipps welcome!

PostMon Jan 22, 2018 2:02 pm

Hi everybody,

we have a big productivity issue with power windows (PW) getting corrupted in size.
(DVR Studio 14.2 latest version/ Imac 27" 2017 / MacOs Sierra latest version)

We are working on an edited multicam timeline in UHD (not flattened) which we are grading. The moment we switch to playback proxy mode and back again all sizes of the PWs in the nodes are mostly corrupted. We experience then power windows of a huuuge size. It is not yet clear if a wrong user setting leads to these issues. The PWs are then really huge and get only visible if we zoom fully out in the viewer window (so the video remains only a tiny spot).

Are we doing anything wrong? Is there a workaround?

Thanks in advance

Frank

I've just installed today's latest version and the bug is still there.

Have a nice day

EDIT: Here is a screen recording to explain the bug and also to reset the offset as a workaround :

Hey, Thx for the reply and support! ;)
We indeed have two power window issues.
1. Exactly this offset thing that can be now worked around with your 2nd link. :D
2. this "maximum size PW issue", where this huuuuge PW can only be seen once you scroll completely out to the limits of the viewer. :?: :?:

have a great day!

Yep. Still a problem. Basically power windows are unreliable in proxy mode, which is a show-stopper for using proxy mode.

GregAusina, the link to frameio doesn't work anymore; how did you manage to make this workaround, so how to reset the offset?

I managed to reset the Power Window offset by making a new version of the clip:

Right click on clip > Remote versions (or Local Versions, depending on your workflow) > Create New Version.

If you copy the node with the Power Window to the version of the clip where you experienced this offset bug, it should now work properly as well.
