DaVinci Resolve Configuration for a Z820

PostMon Jan 22, 2018 9:01 pm

The 2014 manual for the Z820 has specified slots for Decklink cards in the HP.
I don't think a 4K card with a mezzanine configuration will fit in a single slot.
Can I use any other available slots?

In 2014, we didn't have the DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G card, which requires an 8 lane PCIe slot.

If you have the DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G card, and an HP Z820, it needs to go in slot 3 ideally (which is an 8 lane slot.

But putting it there blocks slots 2 and 4 from being used with dual wide GPU's, so that's no good.

Looks like best bet is to put the DeckLink 12G in slot 6 (a full 16 lane slot) and hopefully the storage card (if you have one) fits into slot 1.
