Multicam clips audio tracks not preserved

PostFri Feb 16, 2018 3:01 am

This is not a new issue but from what I have seen it has not been resolved.

This issue is that when creating multicam clips the resulting clip only has a single stereo track.

I want multicam clips with all the original audio tracks (or in my case the audio that has autosynced).

Is this still impossible and why??

I have tried to link the multicam clip and the audio tracks in the media page which almost worked - it allowed me to place the clip into the timeline but when I hit play, DR crashes.

I have been grappling with this issue since version 11 and it is really frustrating.

Has anyone found a solution to this issue?

Many thanks

I've taken to adding the additional audio I want to be heard under the multi-cam clip.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I though the same, but I don't want to have source clips on the timeline. I like to cut from the pool...

Until BMD changes the way Resolve handles multi-cam, I don't think you have a choice.

I have given up using multicam clips for this project.

Hopefully this issue can be resolved in a future update.

It is one of very few complaints I would make about the program.

Peter,

Yes the multicam is totally broken. But I think that you might find some respite by switching your track type to adaptive. It is my experience that resolve puts each angle into an adaptive audio track and when you cut it into the sequence of you have a stereo track ( which is the default) it will default to that when you flatten.

I am really hoping that BM fixes/revises the way they do multican for the next version. It's a critical tool for editing and isn't usable in a professional environment in its current iteration.
