Smart Bins for Markers and keywords not working for me?

PostSat Feb 17, 2018 1:40 pm

If I do a Smart Bin with 2 criterias, Marker Name and keyword I get no results.
I added keyword Bird and a marker which says "flying"
Does it work for anyone else?
Thanks

Hi Andreas

I think the reason it doesn't work for you is that you entered marker's name on timeline clip and not in bin (source monitor) The relevant Smart Bin criteria refers to markers entered in Source.
The Keyword also works but since it was looking for 2 rules and you didn't have the right marker it didn't find anything.

Thanks for the reply.
This is what I do.
- I double click on a clip in the Media window. Then I press M. It creates a marker with name "Marker 1"
- I create a smart bin and search for a marker name that contains "Marker". I get no results.

Is there something else I should be doing? I don't think this is a timeline clip since its not on the timeline.
Thanks!

Strange indeed.

I create a new project, pulled in 5 videos and put markers on them. NOW it worked for them. However in my old project I could not find markers ever.
However I still have my old problem markers and keywords at the same time. I wrote keyword "drone" and marker name "marker". Then I get nothing.

I never got them to work together. Would be very useful if its possible

p. 386 Resolve 15.1 manual:
These are extremely useful logging techniques for three reasons. First, markers with duration
can be searched for in the Media Pool using the All Fields, Marker Name, and Marker Notes
Filter by options. Second, they can be filtered with Smart Bins using the Marker Name and
Marker Notes Media Pool Properties options.

Well, this would be really nice, but it is not working at all for me. This seems to be all in beta stage, still.
At least with projects started with Resolve 14 and then brought into 15 this does not work at all.
