Rendering problem

PostSat Feb 17, 2018 10:23 pm

When I render and export a video (Format - Quicktime, Codec - , I can't play it with windows media player, or use it in hitfilm express. Another thing, I can't export it in mp4. Anyone know the problem? I'm just starting out with davinci resolve, so I don't know what it could be.

Can you tell us about your hardware and your OS?

Which version of Resolve? What OS? What hardware (CPU, GPU, RAM, I/O)? What type of camera source files? What specific kind of rendered file? What resolution are you using?

Windows Media is not always the best choice as a video player. If you install the (free) DHxHD and DHxHR codecs, that can work for a lot of purposes. A lot depends on the needs of your delivered files: for example, you'd want to go in one direction if the final destination was YouTube, and another method if you had to deliver to Netflix or Amazon.
