Whenever I try to export a video in MP4, a message pops up saying, "Recording failed with Error: Failed to encode the video frame." I've exported the same footage from Hitfilm Express with no problems in MP4. Anyone know the problem?
Or HD, using one of the data rate categories (best, etc.), instead of CBR. I know they don't want to encourage its use, but there ought to be a glue-on for the few Win7 limitations, it would save a lot of redundant posts, if anyone bothered to read it.
You have Windows 7 and you're trying to export in 4K?
I'm using windows 7 pro 64bit, and I get the problem everytime regardless of whether it's UHD or HD resolution. I never had this problem with Resolve 9 and 10. From 12 onward it's been a constant problem for me.
Would a newer version of Windows solve the problem?

There's been threads about the same issue. Apparently Resolve is accessing the OS API for H264 decoding/encoding and Windows 7 has a bunch of restrictions compared to Windows 8 and 10.
Good morning. Hello, I had the same problem with Win7 Pro I recommend video export MP4 video format Codec 264 Resolution 1920x1080 / 1280x720 / 720x576 Quality - Restricto 100 000kb/s Key Frames automatic And you won't have any more transfer problems in PM4 Alain

Me neither. And that's a Win7 Home upgrade.
This is probably because Bryan does not use Davinci Resolve's MP4 and H.264 encodings (and probably does not have the Studio version)
@Bryan, It's not nice to let everyone believe that W7 works well . If a publisher says: test and approved with W10: it must be respected.
Regards.

Hey, steady-on. I never said that Win7 works well. I simply stated that the Win10 Home I have running on one PC was upgraded from Win7 Home....although I did perform a clean Win10 reinstall subsequently (Current build 16299). Nothing more, nothing less. And yes I am running the free version of Resolve - so what ?
Really nasty to vilify someone like that. I think an apology is in order there Jean Claude.
