Micro Panel Device Not Recognized (Windows Only)

PostTue Feb 27, 2018 7:18 am

I have a brand new micro panel with firmware version 1.1.2 that is recognized by the Davinci Resolve Panels software on my Macbook Pro but not on my Windows 10 machine.

I've disabled secure boot in my bios as some others have suggested but that didn't help.

I've tried both the USB3 port and the USB-C ports on my motherboard. The Micro Panel lights turn on but the Device Manager shows the yellow caution icon with a device status of:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.

Thanks for any other suggestions!

Still have this problem. Has anyone successfully got their Micro Panel working with Windows 10? Any tips you can offer?

I've just tested with 3 different diverse Win10 systems running version 1709.

Micro Panel works on all of them.

The Micro Panel will show up in the "Sound, video and game controllers" section of Device Manager.

If you run the DaVinci Resolve Panels app in the Blackmagic Design programs folder, what happens?

You said: "but the Device Manager shows the yellow caution icon with a device status of:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

What area of Device Manager is that appearing in? That only appears when you connect the panel?

For me the micro panel shows up in the "Other devices" list. Under sound video and game controllers I only have High definition audio device, and two other nvidia audio devices.

I'm running the controller into the USB-3 plug in the back of the computer with the supplied micro panel cable.

If I open the Windows 10 settings app the micro panel is listed under other devices with a message underneath it's title "Driver is unavailable" and it has a button to "Remove device".

If I unplug the device the davinci micro panel is no longer listed in the list of Other devices (both in the device manager app and the windows setting app).

And when I run the panels app it just says no davinci resolve panels found.

My only thought would be to use the Programs and Features Control Panel to uninstall DaVinci Resolve and DaVinci Resolve Panels, disable Secure Boot, and reinstall them. But it sounds like you've already done that?

If that doesn't work, something in your system must be interfering with the driver install, but I don't know what that could be, or how to troubleshoot it, short of reinstalling Windows.

Is there a driver file available that I could download and point my system to since it says the driver is unavailable and can’t find one when doing the automatic search?

Here's a link to the Resolve Panels 1.1.2 driver:

It goes in this directory:

C:\Windows\System32\drivers

Thanks for sending that over! I put it in the drivers folder and restarted but still having the same issue. It doesn't show up in the Resolve panels software and still says the driver is unavailable. It was worth a shot! I'll try reinstalling Resolve.

Hi there,

have the same problem. Windows 10 Pro. Resolve 12.5.0.052.

Any ideas?

Keep getting message:
Missind DaVinci panels
One or more DaVinci panels could not be found. Please check yyour panels are properly connected.
All panels require both a USB and power cabel.

Micro panel is connected with original USB cable directly to PC.

Is there a driver? Anything that helps?

Thanks, Birgit

Resolve 12.5.0 does not support the Mini or Micro panel. Why are you using such old Resolve code?

Assuming you selected the DaVinci Resolve Panels option when you ran the 15.3.1 installer, and assuming you have the Micro Panel selected in Resolve Preferences - System - Control Panels, and have saved those prefs and restarted Resolve, and still nothing, select the DaVinci Resolve Panels Setup menu in the Resolve Help menu.

Does that detect the panel?
