Downloading DVR 14.03 and troubles with database

Hello all,

Brand new to DVR and tried the 12 and 14.01 version on a Windows 7 pro desktop. Both ran smoothly up until yesterday when I downloaded the 14.03 version and got troubles after installing smoothly.

When installed the icon appears and I click to start it up but a black window appears then called "database manager" and a smaller black window saying " Database Resolve did not locate a compatible or upgradeable database". Please create new Disk or PostgreSQL database for your projects"
I click OK, the small window disappears, I have other several options under in the initial black window: restore, backup, connect optimize create. Restore sends me to my computer and asks me for "database backup files " files. None to see... "Backup" is naturally lame, "Connect" opens another black window and an "Existing Database" (I guess the PostgreSQL one?) that I need to fill in with info I don't know, "Optimize" is lame and "Create" is an exact copy of "Connect".

I can not go further than that.

What is going wrong?

Help very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Albert-Alain

Make sure you are launching Resolve, and not the Resolve Project Server (which has a black icon).

There is a database change in Resolve 14.3, and your existing database(s) won't work without being Upgraded.

If you select an existing database in the database list on the left side of the Project Manager window, and it needs to be Upgraded, it will show you that in the Project area. Click the button to Upgrade the database. When it's finished, you should see your existing projects.

It's generally a good idea to Backup existing databases BEFORE Upgrading them, in case you want to go back to the earlier Resolve version for some reason.
