No audio playback when working

After learning how to convert video and audio files to proper Resolve formats correctly and relatively perfectly, I decided to give DaVinci Resolve another go.

I decided to create a test file, but as I'm working within, there's no sound when I'm playing. The audio meter recognizes that there is sound playing, the audio is encoded and sound works in the rendered file, but when I'm working within the editor, I could not hear a thing!

When I tried going to "Preferences" and "Video and Audio I/O", all I could see in the options for "For capture and playback use" is "None", and the "Use System Audio Output" checkbox is un-tickable! It's greyed out!

Any advice on how I can fix this?!?! I'm using Manjaro Linux, so don't give me any advice about doing Windows activities, because they will CLEARLY not work!

By the way, even though this is my first post on this forum and I could find other people having this issue on this forum, I cannot find a single fix on those discussions!!!

DaVinci Resolve doesn't support system audio on Linux. You need a BMD playback device (DeckLink/UltraStudio/Intensity).

I found that out before you replied. I am uninstalling Resolve again and will never, EVER use it again.

To be fair, a BMD playback device is an excellent idea in more ways than one. You get color-accurate 10-bit video output and guaranteed audio/video sync.
