Trimming changes Date Modified and Date Created

I'm verifying that trimming files does not create problems for the future.
One issue I found was that trimmed file the Date Modified and Date Created are changed to the time where the trimming took place.

Is there a way to have the same Date Modified and Date Created? Idealy I would like to store the actual creation time since it can be useful to sort a collection based on creation time. I see there is a Date Recorded but it will not work to sort from since it has a random number attached for red files.

Thanks,
Andreas

Trimming is a non-destructive action performed on clips in a timeline. Are you talking about creating new copies of the media?

Honestly, I would expect the new files to carry the new date.

Hi, yes, I copy them and trim at the same time so technically they are of course new files.
I remember once writing a copy program where I "fixed" these issue by copying the original files attribute and pasted it into the new file. I guess a decent workaround is to write the date as meta data.

There is a Date Recorded field under Shot & Scene metadata.
