Pen tool for Audio?

PostTue Mar 20, 2018 5:09 pm

Hi all,

My apologizes ahead of time if this has been covered. I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

Does DaVinci have a pen tool similar to FCP and PP where I can simply select the tool, place a dot on the audio level and lift or lower the level? I have attached a screengrab as an example.

In DAW-speak, this is called "automation."

Yes, you can do that in Resolve. Edited to remove the link to a tutorial that actually didn't cover this!

BING BING BING - You are both right.

Brad you are correct, it is Automation, but I don't believe the video covers this, at least for the use of automating faders.

Vit, it was right down the street from 1166 and at 1178.

Thanks for the help! You just saved me WEEKS of work.

You actually can't do that in Resolve because it is not precise. I have tried and it has a snapping problem to where it only snaps at the places it wants, not in the places I tell it to...

Clip Gain (“Volume”) Nodes are locked to the frame.
Sub-frame placement of key frames is not currently possible.
