Switching from Premiere

I'm looking to use Resolve full-time (vs. just color) and am getting hung up on a few things.

Namely Keyboard shortcuts and the editing.

I'm an editor who likes to use timelines and vet footage within the timeline. For example, I put all the footage on track 1 and do a pass where I bring my first round of selects to track 2, etc. Using timelines to organize and then duplicating that timeline is our workflow.

My problem with Resolve, is that I can't find a way to navigate clips within the timeline space in an effective way using shortcuts. I cut, select and shift clips in 2 dimensions (up and down different tracks, and shift back and forth). I also slip, cascade delete, and the like without touching a mouse.

Are there ways to do these in Resolve - especially the clip shifting? I've looked through the keyboard shortcut options and can't seem to find a way.

Thanks much.

One of the most frustrating things for me about switching to Resolve was trying to duplicate there what I was accustomed to doing in Premiere Pro.

I decided to change tactics. I bought and read...

...with an eye towards "starting over". I was approaching the task as if I'd never edited anything before, taking in the lessons on how to use Resolve, on how it works, on what it can do, without trying to compare and contrast with Premiere Pro.

I found that a less frustrating and more effective approach, adopting my work flow to the capabilities of the new software.

I've no regrets.
